i tried playing some 720p videos, of mkv format, avi format n even mp4 format, most of them had an issue in playback, some only had the audio played but no video, some only had the video but no audio. i wonder if i'm the only one with this issue, as i havent seen anything about it anywhere on the net.

pls let me know if there's something i can do about this, or do i really have to wait for a firmware update?

Nokia C7 supports
the following Video Playback Formats:
3GPP formats (H.263), D-1, Flash Video, H.264/AVC[3], MPEG-4[4], RealVideo 10[5], Sorenson Spark, VC-1, VP6, WMV 9

Perhaps next browser versions include codecs for other video formats.

Keep on mind the browser Skyfire (http://store.ovi.com/content/2178). This one is great and supports nearly any video format however there is no symbian version for the C7 yet ....... keep it in mind and download this browser from the ovi store as soon as there is a C7 version available.

are you just watching them on your phone or are you connecting them to a high def tv?

cos if you are only watching them on your phone them you don't need 720p cos the phone can only play videos of 640x360 pixels max.  Anything larger is downscaled!

Sofar only watched videos on the phone which works fine as long as you play video streams that are supported by the C7.
For instance Silverlight streams are not supported and give an error.
